So I'm wandering past the Museum of Natural History the other day, when something catches my eye as it runs around their side lawn. I look over, expecting to see a dog of some kind - but what do you think I saw?
Its Mud, a tortoise from the Museum's herpetology department! :) There were two tortoises out there - apparently, the staff brings them out on the lawn to let them catch a little sun and snack on the grass as a bit of a treat.
Here's another shot of Mud, as he runs to catch up with his buddy - he's a quick little thing!
This one is Hermes... he was hiding out in the shade, munching on the grass and weeds.
I love the random things you see on a lazy Saturday afternoon in New York! :)
