100 (foodie) things

Glittrgirl posted this on her blog today, so I thought I'd take part. Here's how it works:

1) Copy this list into your blog or journal, including these instructions.
2) Bold all the items you’ve eaten.
3) Cross out any items that you would never consider eating. (I've italicised them, cause blogger doesn't do strikethrough fonts)
4) Optional extra: Post a comment here at www.verygoodtaste.co.uk linking to your results.

Glenda's VGT Omnivore’s Hundred:

1. Venison (does it count if it was in a multi-meat, French Canadian stew/pie?)
2. Nettle tea
3. Huevos rancheros
4. Steak tartare
5. Crocodile
6. Black pudding
7. Cheese fondue
8. Carp

10. Baba ghanoush
11. Calamari

12. Pho
13. PB&J sandwich
14. Aloo gobi
15. Hot dog from a street cart -
yay for Street Meat (or Road Dogs, as Mike calls them)! in undergrad, Tiffany and I had street meat from a campus vendor as a marker of the official annual 'Pre-Summer Day!'
16. Epoisses
17. Black truffle
18. Fruit wine made from something other than grapes - my grandfather used to make all kinds of wine.. I seem to remember trying a gooseberry one when I was about 16 :) Raspberry wine is really nice too.
19. Steamed pork buns - fresh from a chinatown bakery in Calgary - yummy!
20. Pistachio ice cream
21. Heirloom tomatoes - just last weekend at the cottage, no less!
22. Fresh wild berries
23. Foie gras
24. Rice and beans - together? no.

25. Brawn, or head cheese - I'm sorry, but nothing should have that much gelatin in it except jello!

26. Raw Scotch Bonnet pepper - I don't like really hot peppers
27. Dulce de leche
28. Oysters - fun fact: my uncle had (maybe still has?) an oyster farm of the coast of BC, and he'd often leave burlap sacks full of fresh oysters on our doorstep when he came to town... but I won't eat them raw, sorry.
29. Baklava
30. Bagna cauda
31. Wasabi peas - interesting, but I won't be eating them again.

51. Prickly pear
52. Umeboshi
53. Abalone
54. Paneer
55. McDonald’s Big Mac Meal - I could never eat that much grease (I mean, food) in one sitting!
56. Spaetzle - not yet, but Claudia keeps promising to make it for me
57. Dirty gin martini - vodka ones are better

69. Fried plantain
70. Chitterlings, or andouillette

78. Snail - sounds so much better as 'escargot', don't you think?
79. Lapsang souchong
80. Bellini - Milestone's, a popular Vancouver restaurant, used to have Bellini Tuesdays, of which I partook many times!

100. Snake

So how many have you/would you eat?
