Cookie Day!

Last Sunday was Christmas tree day, which meant that Mike and I got to trek out into the wilderness to cut down a tree. This year's "wilderness" was a tree farm in Richmond, which came complete with muddy fields and rain puddles - a slight change from the 6-12 inches of fresh snow we usually find at the farm.
(not a great photo - it was a very grey day)

Here's Mr. Tree at home, in all his decorated glory.
In past years, we have always decorated our tree with cookies - partly so I have an excuse to make them, and partly so that we don't have to find the space to store loads of tree decorations throughout the rest of the year. This year, however, we finally seem to have reached the point where we have enough randomly collected ornaments to decorate the tree without need of the extra cookies.... but of course that didn't stop me from baking them anyway! :)

Here are a few of my favourites from this year

Here's Hermey the Elf, with one of Abominable's teeth...

and poor Abominable, after Hermy attacked him (skip to 8:45 to see the evil attack!)

And a random green monster, just because. :)
